York Steiner School

York Flower Meadow

Our weekend venue, is in a quiet situation not far from one of the main routes out of the city. Since the 1980s the school has been housed in a secondary modern school building from the 1950s. The utilitarian architecture has been softened, the tarmac replaced by more adventurous outdoor play areas and the school is particularly beautifully decorated for the Advent and Spring Fair events.

We meet in the kindergarten rooms and have use of the spacious classrooms and eurythmy room. Students enjoy seeing the changing nature tables in the kindergarten rooms and the progress of the children’s handwork projects. Our NESWEC library of books, journals and DVDs is available here for students to borrow from. The school has four kindergarten groups and students often make arrangements to arrive early or stay on after the weekend in order to spend time with one of the groups as part of their NESWEC placement.
